Not surprisingly many parts of Texas have rich history with plenty of surprises and exciting events. One such place is the city of Garland. Downtown Garland has been around since the mid 1800s and throughout the years the city has experienced numerous tragedies and other notable events. Obviously as the city of Dallas grew Downtown Garland also began to grow as well so Dallas definitely played a part in the development of the city as well. Prior to Dallas becoming huge downtown Garland grew thanks to the fact that the railroad was finally moving into the area. Downtown Garland has continued to expand ever since then and as such today there are thousands of residents in the area.
More recently however downtown Garland has gone through a bit more change. Downtown Garland was part of a major historical revitalization project spearheaded by the city of Dallas which was meant to bring businesses and residents back to the area. Downtown Garland has received quite a bit of funding and special assistance to help redesign and revitalize the entire downtown Garland area while still keeping part of the history in everything. It has been a successful project in most parts of downtown Garland and as such there are quite a few apartments and other residential buildings available in the area to move into.
For the past few years downtown Garland has been working closely with dozens of public and private investors to bring companies and industry to downtown Garland and they have been relatively successful thus far. Thanks to the increase of jobs and work available more residents have also begun to move into the downtown Garland area as well. Of course it is still entirely possible to live in downtown Garland and commute to work in Dallas or any other part of the metropolitan area as well which means there is plenty of work available within the area. If you want to get out of Dallas while still living somewhat close to the city the downtown Garland area is a great choice as it offers a great mix of somewhat suburban living while still managing to keep a relatively urban feel along with all of the urban convenience you would expect. Take a look at the recently revitalized downtown Garland district today and see if you like it; many people are surprised by the new city.
