Far North Dallas is exactly what it sounds like - the northern most portion of the City of Dallas, surrounded by Richardson, Addison, Carrolton, and Plano. Far North Dallas is known for its generally very wealthy inhabitants and the unique array of homes that wealth provides. You'll find various styles of homes - just larger - but there are also a number of homes renowned for their modern architecture. These homes help give Far North Dallas its own style that isn't typically found in suburban or exurban neighborhoods. You never know when you'll stumble upon a house that makes you stop dead in your tracks for a look.
Far North Dallas has several fantastic eateries that will always make you want to visit again. Steak houses like Ruth's Chris, III Forks, and Sullivan's draw people all the way from Downtown. The Russian deli Gourmand brings a European taste to the neighborhood, while the Natural Grocers offers a natural selection of grocery items to Far North Dallas.
Far North Dallas has plenty to keep residents entertained. The Dallas television show was filmed at Southfork Ranch in close-by Parker, and the ranch is still open to visitors. There are also plenty of sports options, most notably taking in a game with Major League Soccer's FC Dallas, or the Frisco Roughriders minor league baseball team, at Pizza Hut Park in nearby Frisco. And, you can stop off at the region's only Ikea store right next to the park. If you want to get away for a weekend, Dallas Love Field Airport is a quick drive down the Dallas North Tollway, or DFW International Airport is a slightly longer jaunt west toward Fort Worth on Highway 635.
