Great Hills Information
The Great Hills neighborhood is a small residential neighborhood just northwest of downtown Austin that is quite popular with many people moving to the Austin area. Like many residential areas Great Hills is popular because it is somewhat separated from the main parts of the city while still offering quick access to anything and everything you could possibly need. Great Hills is also very popular with families because of the quick access to numerous schools in the area as well as the quality of the schools in the area. Great Hills is close enough to downtown Austin that there are plenty of jobs and other amenities to satisfy anyone's needs. Downtown Austin is always brimming with jobs so finding work should be relatively simple no matter what industry you are part of; at the same time Austin offers plenty of shopping and entertainment opportunities so you should never have to worry about finding exactly what you need. Depending on what part of Austin you work in it might be possible to either walk to work or take public transportation as well which can make it much cheaper to commute each way every day as well.
As with most residential communities Great Hills also has a variety of parks and recreation areas within a very short distance. There are dozens of outdoor parks and play areas for children as well as numerous running and walking trails in the area. The city also puts on multiple entertainment activities throughout the year to keep local residents connected as a community. The availability of outdoor space is something that sets Great Hills apart from many other neighborhoods in the area; given the close proximity to Austin it is somewhat difficult to find very many parks or outdoor areas so this makes Great Hills a very attractive option.
Overall Great Hills is a unique place to live with plenty of amenities and nearby attractions. A short drive can put you directly in the heart of downtown Austin which immediately offers all sorts of shopping and dining experiences as well as jobs and work. Great Hills also has some amazing outdoor parks that so many other urban neighborhoods do not have; all of these things combined really do make Great Hills a very unique and interesting place to live in the Austin area.
