Obviously this is good for the local economy and it also shows that Waxahachie is set on drawing in more residents and businesses. Current estimates indicate that Waxahachie is growing at around 4% per year which is quite respectable when it comes to suburban cities.

Waxahachie is also well known as a historic community in the area. Throughout the year Waxahachie celebrates numerous historic or traditional events including a famous World War II reenactment which is meant to celebrate Veterans Day. Due to the age of Waxahachie many residences are Victorian aged or are made to appear Victorian style which continues to add to the historic feel of the city. Thanks to the highways and interstates passing through Waxahachie the city has been able to draw a significant amount of tourists as well.

There are also a few colleges within Waxahachie that draw many people to the city; the Southwest Assemblies of God University as well as Navarro College are significant establishments within Waxahachie. Jobs within Waxahachie are plentiful as well thanks to the variety of industrial companies present and of course Dallas is well within commuting distance as well so there is no shortage of employment. Because Waxahachie is just barely over 30 miles outside of downtown Dallas it is not the perfect commuting suburb but depending on where your job is located it can definitely work well.

Overall Waxahachie is a nice historic community with plenty of history and tradition behind it. Waxahachie is far enough outside of Dallas that nearly all of the traffic and congestion is avoided but it is still close enough that commuting to Dallas for work is entirely possible. If you are looking for an out of the way community with a rich history then Waxahachie is a good choice; the issue of a long commute is always worth considering though as there are many suburban cities closer to downtown Dallas than Waxahachie is. As for the celebrations and traditions of Waxahachie, very few cities are able to match the events that take place each and every year in Waxahachie; plus they are happening year round in Waxahachie thanks to the beautiful weather.
