How does UMoveFree help me find an apartment?

UMoveFree is a licensed real estate company. We help renters find apartments throughout Texas. Renters can register on our website and search thousands of updated apartment listings. We show you more apartment listings than ANY other website; guaranteed. Additionally, every renter that registers on our site is offered personal assistance from a UMoveFree Apartments Specialist. Our Apartment Specialists are agents with years of experience helping renters locate the perfect apartment. Best of all, this assistance is completely free and every renter that uses UMoveFree to find their next apartment is provided a Free Move or up to a $200 Rebate.

Does your service cost me anything at all?

No. We realize this almost sounds too good to be true, but it makes more sense when you understand how our service works. UMoveFree has a listing arrangement with nearly every apartment community in Texas. These apartments have offered to pay us a referral commission if we send them renters. That's where you come in! Register on our site, get personalized assistance from a UMoveFree agent, and when you visit the apartment communities let them know you were referred by our service. We earn a commission and we share a portion of that commission with you in the form of a Free Move or Rebate!

How are you able to provide me a free move?

We are paid a commission from the apartment community where you lease. We then use a portion of our commission to pay a professional moving company on your behalf. Don't need the move? Renters that chose to move themselves are still entitled to a cash rebate.

How do I qualify for a free move?

You must have learned about the apartment community from UMoveFree. Register with the individual properties either online or through one of our agents, and then visit the properties and write "UMoveFree Apartment Locators" as your referring locator on the guest card, lease application and lease contract. Let us know as soon as you have submitted an application, we will verify your information, and you can schedule your Free Move. It's that easy!

Will you move everything for free?

Our goal is to provide every renter a completely free move whenever we can. We move everything an average apartment contains and, most important, we have the most inclusive free move offer in the industry; guaranteed! How can we do this? UMoveFree is by far the largest and most popular apartment finding service in Texas. We dwarf our nearest competitors. By leveraging our volume we can offer the best deal around. We include the highest number of boxes and include more "no charge" items than any of our smaller competitors. Even if you have a few items that fall outside our Free Move Offer you can pay a small fee for the overages or just move those items yourself. If I need assistance finding an apartment, how do I contact an agent?

One way is to simply register on our website. Provide us your phone number and email address. Every renter that registers on our website is assigned to an agent and contacted within 24 hours. Does using UMoveFree's service affect any specials offered by the apartment community?

No, our free apartment finding service and free move or rebate does not affect apartment community's rental rates or specials in any way. The properties pay our commissions from their advertising budget. In fact, many times we can actually save you money by making sure you have access to all of the properties in a given area and by negotiating on your behalf.

How do I schedule my free move?

Contact your agent and report your lease or call our office at 800.863.0603. We'll confirm your lease details with the community and then provide you a lease confirmation number. Once you have this confirmation number you can complete our online move request.

Can you move me from a storage unit, house, etc. to my new apartment?

Yes we can.

Can you move me from one city to another?

Absolutely. Most of our clients are moving from one city to another. There's no additional charge for this so long as your move falls within the same metro area. Call your agent or our moving coordinator for additional details.

How far in advance do I need to schedule my move?

We suggest you finalize your lease and schedule your move as early as possible to make sure you can get your preferred move date. All moves must be scheduled 24 hours in advance.

Do your movers work every day?

The moving company we use is available 7 days a week excluding certain holidays such as Christmas and New Year's Day. Contact our Move Department for more details.

Is UMoveFree a moving company that can quote me pricing on a move if I do not need the apartment locating service?

UMoveFree is not a moving company. We are an apartment finding service that facilitates moves for our client using a third party professional moving company. However, we can refer you to a moving company that offers moving services.

If I have used UMoveFree's services in the past, can I utilize your services again?

Absolutely. We love repeat customers. In fact, most of our business comes from repeat and referral business. Check out UMoveFree reviews to find out why so many renters use us again and again.

Suppose my roommate and I are moving from separate locations, do we both qualify for the free move?

Our standard Free Move Offer only includes one pick up location. There would be a $30 charge for each additional pick-up location.

Are packing boxes included?

We do not provide boxes. If you'd like a referral to purchase discount boxes simply contact one of our Moving Coordinators.

If I have additional items not covered by the standard free move, what methods of payment are accepted and at what point is this paid?

The movers will accept cash only on the day of the move for additional charges.

If I am moving within the same apartment community, can UMoveFree provide me with a free move or a rebate?

No, since we are an apartment locating agency, we must have referred you to the community in order for you to qualify for our service.

If I prefer to move myself, how do I request the rebate?

Contact your UMoveFree agent and report your lease or call our office at 800.863.0603. We'll confirm your lease details with the community and then provide you a lease confirmation number. Once you have this confirmation number you can complete our online rebate request.

How long does it take to receive the rebate?

We pay your rebate as soon as your community and/or management company has paid our referral fee invoice. We mail your rebate check to the address you provide. This generally takes between 8 to 16 weeks. For more information see our Rebate Terms page.

Why Are There Limits on Your Free Move Offer?

UMoveFree is not a moving company; we are a real estate company. We help renters find apartments and earn a referral commission from the property where you lease. We use a portion of that commission to provide you up to a $200 rebate. Alternatively, customers have the option of using that rebate amount towards the cost of a move. We've negotiated the best possible price based on the volume of moves our customers purchase. Our standard free move offer covers most items and many customers are able to move with no additional fees. With that said, there are limits on what we can get moved for that price. If a customer has additional items or their move takes additional time they are only responsible for the overages. These additional fees are paid directly to the moving company, not UMoveFree.
