Although UMoveFree makes reasonable efforts to ensure this data is updated regularly, we cannot and do not claim to guarantee the accuracy of this information. It’s important that you contact your favorite communities to verify you’re acting on the most recent information. Too busy to call your favorite communities? Don’t worry. Just contact your UMoveFree agent and they’ll call for you.

Why isn’t the property that I’m looking for on your site?

We show renters more apartment listings than any other apartment website - period. As the largest apartment locator in the country we’ve secured listing agreements with nearly every community in the markets we serve. Even so, there are some communities that simply don’t work with apartment locators. In these rare cases our website will show you either limited information or no information at all. If you lease at one of these communities you will not be eligible for our free move or rebate offer(s). Keep in mind that this does not represent the majority of communities. Also, if you’re having trouble finding a community on our site it’s important that you speak with a representative to ensure you’re looking under the correct name, address and location. A quick call will verify whether or not we work with that property.

I asked for an email of my favorite properties. Why didn’t it arrive?

If you selected the option to email your favorite listings then it should be in your inbox. First, verify that you’ve provided us the correct email address by updating your profile. If your email address is correct our message may have been erroneously marked as spam by your email provider. Check your spam or “junk mail” folder. If this happens it’s important that you mark our message as “not spam” and also mark our email address as a trusted sender. If you’re trying to locate a list emailed by your UMoveFree agent, or you’re having trouble locating an email, just contact your agent or office and we can help you resolve the issue.

Move Questions

How are you able to provide me a free move?

When you find an apartment using our service and properly list us, we are paid a referral commission from the apartment community. We then use a portion of our commission to pay a professional moving company on your behalf. Don't need the move? Renters that choose to move themselves are still entitled to a cash rebate. How do I qualify for a free move?

You must have learned about the apartment community from UMoveFree. Search apartment listings on our website, or let one of UMoveFree’s agents do the searching for you. When visiting communities, be sure you properly list UMoveFree as your referral source on all guest cards and rental applications. Let your agent know as soon as you have submitted an application, and we will verify your information, then you can schedule your free move or rebate. It's that easy!

Will you move everything for free?

Our goal is to provide every renter a completely free move whenever we can. We move everything an average apartment contains and, most importantly, we have the most inclusive free move offer in the industry; guaranteed! How can we do this? UMoveFree is by far the largest and most popular apartment finding service in Texas. We dwarf our nearest competitors. By leveraging our volume we are able to offer the best deal around. We include the highest number of boxes and include more "no charge" items than any of our smaller competitors. Even if you have a few items that fall outside our Free Move Offer, you can pay a small fee for the overages or just move those items yourself. Why are there limits on your free move offer?

UMoveFree is not a moving company; we are a real estate company. We help renters find apartments and earn a referral commission from the property where you lease. We use a portion of that commission to provide you a rebate of up to $200. Alternatively, customers have the option of using that rebate amount towards the cost of a move. We've negotiated the best possible price based on the volume of moves our customers purchase. Our standard free move offer covers most items and many customers are able to move with no additional fees. With that said, there are limits on what we can get moved for that price. If a customer has additional items or their move takes an additional amount of time, they are only responsible for the overage fees. These additional fees are paid directly to the moving company - not UMoveFree. Keep in mind, UMoveFree guarantees the most inclusive free move available.

How do I know I’m getting the best free move offer available?

UMoveFree is the largest and most popular apartment locating company in country. We can offer more back to our customers because of our volume allowing us to operate at lower profit margins. How do I schedule my free move?

Contact your agent and report your lease or call our office at 800.863.0603. We'll confirm your lease details with the community and then provide you a lease confirmation number. Once you have this confirmation number you can complete our online move request.

Is there anything you recommend I do to prepare for my move?

Yes. We recommend you review our moving tips and moving terms of service in advance. If you have any questions you can contact one of our Moving Coordinators.

If I have additional charges, what methods of payment are accepted, and at what point is this paid?

If you have additional items or time not covered by our standard free move you will be required to pay these fees directly to the moving company on the day of your move. The movers will accept cash only for additional charges.

Can you move me from a storage unit, house, etc. to my new apartment?

Yes we can.

Can you move me from one city to another?

Absolutely; most of our clients are moving from one city to another. There's no additional charge for this so long as your move falls within the same metro area. Call your agent or contact our moving department for additional details.

How far in advance do I need to schedule my move?

We suggest you finalize your lease and schedule your move as early as possible to make sure you can get your preferred move date. All moves must be scheduled 24 hours in advance. You can also check out a full list of our moving tips to ensure your move goes as smooth as possible.

Do your movers work every day?

The moving company we use is available 7 days a week excluding certain holidays such as Christmas and New Year's Day. Contact our Move Department for more details.

Suppose my roommate and I are moving from separate locations, do we both qualify for the free move?

Our standard Free Move offer only includes one pick up location. There would be a $30 charge for each additional pick-up location.

Are packing boxes included?

We do not provide boxes. If you'd like a referral to purchase discount boxes simply contact one of our Moving Coordinators.

Is UMoveFree a moving company that can quote me pricing on a move if I do not need the apartment locating service?

UMoveFree is not a moving company. We are licensed real estate company and apartment finding service that facilitates moves for our client using a third party professional moving company. However, we can refer you to a moving company that offers moving services.

Rebate Questions

What are the requirements to receive my rebate?

First, create a free account on our website or contact our office. You’ll speak to one of our friendly apartment agents that can help with your apartment search. Some apartments require us to pre-register you before calling or visiting their community so always contact your agent before visiting. Be sure to list us as your referral source when you visit and report your lease once you’ve submitted an application. By using us as your apartment locator we’ll receive a referral fee and you’ll receive a rebate. Check out our rebate terms for additional details.

Is your rebate real cash, or some other gimmick?

Unlike most of our competitors, our rebates are paid via a standard check that you can cash and spend as you please. Other apartment rebate sites claim to make a similar offer but rarely do. Many send you a prepaid credit card that must be used within short period of time or you lose the entire balance. Some even provide a “reward” coupon towards rental furniture? Even the few competitors that offer a cash rebate pay far less than UMoveFree. We guarantee the highest rebates available delivered in cold hard cash!

How do I know I’m getting the highest rebate available?

UMoveFree is the largest and most popular apartment locating company in country. We can offer more back to our customers because of our volume allowing us to operate at lower profit margins. What determines the amount of my rebate?

Your rebate amount is set based on your rent amount and the community where you lease. If your rent amount is $900 or more you’re eligible for a $200 rebate. If your rent amount is less than $900 you're eligible for a $100 rebate. These standard rebate amounts apply to the overwhelming majority of our customers. In rare cases a customer may lease at a community offering a referral fee below our minimum requirement. In these cases customers may be offered a reduced rebate amount. Regardless of the rebate amount it's important for our customers to know they are receiving the best deal available. In fact, we guarantee our rebate amounts are the highest available.

If I prefer to move myself, how do I request the rebate?

Contact your UMoveFree agent and report your lease or call our office at 800.863.0603. We'll confirm your lease details with the community and then provide you a lease confirmation number. Once you have this confirmation number you can complete our online rebate request form.

How long does it take to receive the rebate?

We pay your rebate as soon as your community and/or management company has paid our referral fee invoice. We mail your rebate check to the address you provide. This generally takes between 8 to 16 weeks. For more information, see our Rebate Terms page.

Is there a time limit on requesting my rebate?

We ask customers to submit our online rebate request within 60 days of signing their lease. If you have questions about submitting your rebate request or you cannot complete this process please contact your agent or our office for assistance.

If I need help finding an apartment, how do I contact an agent?

You can contact an agent by simply registering on our website, and providing us your phone number and email address. Does speaking with one of your apartment consultants cost me money?

No. Every UMoveFree customer is offered personalized apartment finding assistance at no cost. Everything UMoveFree offers is completely free to the renter including the agent assistance and our free move and rebate offers.

If I use the personal assistance do I still get a free move or rebate?

Yes. One of our apartment agents can provide expert consultation with your apartment search and this does not affect your free move or rebate offer in any way.

How does using one of your apartment agents benefit me?

First, your agent will complete a brief questionnaire to determine your exact rental preferences including your desired location, budget and amenities. What are the requirements to receive my referral gift card?

First, we must be notified that the referred customer learned about our service from you. There are a number of ways this can happen but the easiest is for you or the customer to contact our office and speak with a representative. Next, the person you referred must find an apartment using our service and properly list us as the referral source. It’s that easy! As soon as the referred customer moves in we’ll send you a $25 prepaid credit card as a thank you gift.

When will I receive my referral gift card?

We mail referral gifts after the referred customer moves in. Please allow up to 4 weeks for processing time. You can also contact us at any time to check the status of your referral gift.

Where can I use UMoveFree referral gift cards?

UMoveFree referral gift cards come in the form of a prepaid credit card worth $25. This card can be used anywhere credit cards are accepted. Each card also comes with easy instructions to check the available balance.

How will you know I referred my friend or family member?

We try to make it as easy as possible for you to refer friends and family members to our service. When telling renters about our service ask them to mention your name when they contact us. If they forget, or you just want to verify, you can contact our office and let us know yourself. Either way, as soon as we know you referred the customer this information will be entered into our system to ensure you receive your $25 referral gift.

Will the person I refer still be eligible for the full move or rebate offer?

Yes. The referral gift that we send you does not affect the referred customer’s rebate or move in any way.

Is there a limit on the number of renters I can refer?

No. You can refer as many renters as you want. They will receive free apartment finding assistance with a free move or rebate and you’ll receive a $25 prepaid credit card for every customer!
