Forest Hill is a suburb of Fort Worth, located in Tarrant County. Boasting a population of about 15,000, the town has been steadily growing since its inception. Forest Hill is also known for its great barbecue, and local restaurant Off the Bone BBQ was recently named the best in Dallas.
The median rent rates for Forest Hill are very attractive, just over $900 a month. The average age of residents clocks in around the mid-30s, giving the city a youthful yet sophisticated vibe. There are plenty of active opportunities, including biking paths and softball fields for renters to enjoy. Forest Hill also offers quick access to Interstate 20 and Interstate 35W as well as Highway 287 and 820 East.
Forest Hill's fire department was one of the few recipients of national grant funds to receive Rescue 23, a highly specialized rescue truck. Considered a State Homeland Security Asset that is deployable anywhere in the country when needed. Features include a light tower that can illuminate a football field and its use as a mobile command center. The Forest Hill Police Department also sponsors an array of youth programs to help keep kids involved with their city.
Forest Hill is close to Lake Arlington, which offers picnic areas and parks in addition to water sports and great fishing. Other Fort Worth suburbs like Everman and Kennedale are easy commute for work or play.
