"The Village" in Dallas refers to an area roughly bounded by E. Northwest Highway, US 75 (Central Expressway), East Lovers Lane, and Skillman Street. The neighborhood, also known as Ridgewood Park, is not to be confused with "West Village," an area further south in Uptown Dallas.

Located at the intersection of North Central Expressway and Northwest Highway, NorthPark Center is the nearest shopping mall. The mall bills itself as "one of the premier shopping centers in the United States. After a $250 million expansion in 2006, NorthPark Center became the largest shopping center in North Texas, offering more than 235 stores and restaurants. Stores are open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.

Dakota in the Village , built in 2007, is one of the newest properties in the area.
