Public and private elementary, middle and high schools offer children great educational opportunities. There are a number of public parks in the area. Dragon Park is small and peaceful. Reverchon Park has a playground, basketball, volleyball, baseball field, and tennis courts. Robert E. Lee Park is more dog friendly.
This area boosts a variety of thrift and consignment shops. There is Genesis Benefit Thrift Store, Gratitude Vintage Clothing and Dulce Interior Consignment Showplace. For new items, J. Douglas Design is a wonderful spot for high-end furniture. Grocery shopping can be done at Kroger, El Rio Grande Supermercado, Whole Foods Market, and The Uptown Farmers Market.
