Lake Dallas Information

Enjoy waking up to a waterfront view? The residents of Lake Dallas value their view more than anything else, in one of the premier resort communities in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Lake Dallas was first settled in 1852 and was referred to as the "French Settlement" by its early inhabitants. The city would undergo another name change before it officially became Lake Dallas in 1965. The city has since attracted a variety of people as they flock to take in the beauty of Lake Lewisville.

Lake Dallas is expanding faster than ever. Situated along Highway 35E, other local destinations are not a problem for Lake Dallas residents. The majority of residents have a work commute of less than an hour, and that even includes travel times to Dallas County. The Lewisville Tollway allows residents to connect with local lake communities and access unique areas of Lake Lewisville. If you want a greener travel alternative, the DCTA A-Train services areas of Denton County and Carrollton with a station in Lake Dallas. The Trinity Mills station connects with the DART green line that continues on throughout the rest of Dallas. Concerned about the noise factor? Lake Dallas is a quiet zone prohibiting the trains from blowing their horns unless necessary. This allows residents to have the conveniences of a large city without the negative aspects.

Lake Dallas utilizes its convenient location on Lake Lewisville to its full advantage. The city sponsors an annual watercross championship that attracts hundreds of spectators to witness the excitement of the competition. Other events include a radio controlled airplane show, Halloween carnival, and July 4th celebration. The Parks and Recreation departments provides several options for resident engagement from youth sports leagues to belly dancing to the popular 'Good Times Gang' for senior citizens. Feel free to rent a boat for a weekend out on the water or have a family barbeque at one of the lakeside parks. Minutes away are a variety of shopping and entertainment districts like the Stonebriar Mall in Frisco.

Waking up with a view of the water sounds like paradise. Lake Dallas is expanding to provide residents with just that. In the downtown area alone, new properties are being built that feature a residential and commercial layout. With a quality of life above the state and national average, you will undoubtedly enjoy living in Lake Dallas. It is definitely a community that has something for everyone.
