Pont Alba - Bellaire, Texas
Bellaire means "good air" and was named after the breezes on the land where the city was first surveyed and founded. The city was originally established in 1908 southwest of Houston as a neighborhood and farmers trading center with about six miles of lush land between the newly founded area and the city of Houston. Bellaire was incorporated as a city just ten short years after having been founded and went through major population growth after World-War II until the city of Houston annexed the land surrounding the booming town, stopping it from expanding any more. Recently named one of the wealthiest locations in Texas by per capita income, the city has become a well known bedroom suburb of Houston sometimes even being called the "city of homes" to denote that the city is largely nothing but residences.
